The nonprofit organization dedicated to bringing the future to you now. With your donation in support of our research programs, lightsabers, jetpacks and ray guns can be a reality today.
Who We Are
The idea for ZapMeNow was first conceived of in the Summer of 2006 by a group of self-professed geeks, and like-minded professionals, that identified a gap in the world of scientific research. After a series of late-night philosophical discussions over dinner, we reached the conclusion that something must be done to fill this void.
Spearheaded by our Founder and President, David Filmore, we resolved to utilize the awesome power of democracy and innovation to lead the way towards the construction and research into the futuristic gadgetry the world has always dreamed of.
What We Do
We direct donation dollars on behalf of the community towards the scientific research projects of their choosing. Through in-house research and consultation with experts, our board of directors fund programs that offer the highest likelihood of success in each of our focused areas of research. And report the progress back to our donors through regular newsletters and updates.
How We Do It
Regular RFPs (request for proposals) will be issued to solicit and assess promising research opportunities that satisfy our primary goal of technological advancement. After reviewing and interviewing applicants about their proposals, the board of directors will then grant funds to the most worthy candidates.
Agreements between ZapMeNow and beneficiary organizations will secure shared royalties for new discoveries, and revenues generated will be reallocated to future ZapMeNow projects. In this way, we are ensuring the long-term health and continued growth of the foundation.
Mission Statement
Through the democratization of science it is our desire to speed to the future in the most responsible and thoughtful way possible. To allow the public to vote and donate money in support of research initiatives they choose, whatever they are most passionate about.
By allowing the public to decide on and fund scientific programs we hope to speed the advancement of innovative products and new technologies in areas that may otherwise be overlooked. And thus improve humanity’s overall scientific understanding and knowledge base.
